The ticket for the Dubai World Cup appeared in my mail box on the last minute.
But the horses with their fast sprint and thrill about the victory in the race are not the only excitement of the event! While gentlemen are making their bets about the winner, we ladies are concern about something literally more elated! The hat! The one which is completing the dress and finishing the look. Of course I accepted this challenge with great enthusiasm and very soon reviewed my options. To sew a completely new dress and make also the hat was actually impossible due to the tight time schedule. But my magic fabric drawer has always something inside and fortunately I found a piece of the lovely cotton satin I have done the dress before.. So I decided to redesign it and add some more parts to turn the summer dress to the “Derby creation”.
And then the hat! It was the first time I have ever made a hat, but it showed to be such a fun that I can not wait for the next occasion to create another one!
It was really an amazing event and I was so pleased to be selected as one of the Top 10 best dressed ladies of the day! Hats on, folks!!!
